Gunmen attack oil well south of Cairo

Groups of masked gunmen on Monday attacked an oil well site located between the Beni Suef and Fayoum governorates, which are south of Cairo.

Three gunmen and the guards at the oil site exchanged fire. Security sources said the attack left one guard killed and another injured before the gunmen ran away.

The source said the gunmen seized the guards’ weapons and stole the contents of the site before escaping.

Beni Suef prosecution began investigations, demanding to inspect the site, and issued permits for burying the guards.
