The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has asked Egypt to allow its satellite channel Al-Aqsa to be broadcast through Nilesat, an Egyptian satellite provider, after being dropped by the French-based Eutelsat.
The Islamic movement’s Ministry of Information issued the request in an official press release, describing the TV station as an Arabic national channel.
The French government has recently ordered Eutelsat to take the channel of the air for its alleged “incitement of hatred.”
Hamas’ Information Ministry has expressed its disapproval of the french ruling, suggesting it was a purely political decision unrelated to professional standards or media ethics.
The ministry expressed optimism that its request would be heeded by Nilesat officials.
