Newly-appointed Health Minister Ahmed Fareed said that the total number of injuries recorded during Friday's "Day of Departure" protests stood at 28 as of 7:00 PM Friday evening.
Fareed said that all the injured had been released from hospitals after receiving treatment, except two who were still being treated for bone fractures.
The minister added that the total number of injured to have been treated at hospitals since Wednesday stood at 1134. Of these, 111 remain hospitalized.
Eleven people have reportedly been killed since Wednesday in ongoing protests and clashes.
Fareed visited Tahrir Square where he inspected ambulances, medical supplies and injured demonstrators receiving treatment in mobile field hospitals.
