Health Ministry to launch vaccination campaign against measles in October

The Health Ministry will launch a nationwide campaign to vaccinate 24 million children against German measles in early October, said head of the Preventive Medicine Department Amr Qandil.
 
The campaign aims to vaccinate children between the ages of nine months and 10 years in order to eliminate German measles from Egypt by 2018, he added.
 
The cost of the campaign is estimated at LE200 million, said Qandil. The ministry has been preparing for the campaign over the past four months, Qandil said pointing out that 25.5 million doses of vaccines were ready.
