Health Ministry: One killed, 14 injured in pro-Brotherhood protests

The Health Ministry said one person was killed and 14 others injured during protests staged by the Muslim Brotherhood’s supporters in Cairo and other governorates.

Ahmed al-Ansary, the head of the Ambulance Authority, announced on Friday that one man died at Omm al-Misryeen Hospital. The number of people injured is 14, he added.

The Health Ministry had announced earlier that nine people suffering from breathing problems arrived at Qasr al-Aini and Omm al-Misryeen Hospitals after security fired tear gas on a pro-Brotherhood march.

Security forces fired tear gas on a march for the Brotherhood in front of Qasr al-Aini Hospital and the Doctors Syndicate to prevent them from reaching Tahrir Square, dispersing the protesters to surrounding streets.

Clashes broke out between Brotherhood supporters, who staged marches that were set off from Maadi, Manyal, Omraneyah and Helwan, on one side and supporters of General Abdel Fatah el-Sisi with security forces on the other in Qasr al-Aini.
