Hot, humid weather continues across Egypt on Sunday

Meteorologists predict hot, humid weather on Sunday during the daytime on Cairo and Lower Egypt, with moderate weather on the northern coasts, and very hot weather on South Sinai and Upper Egypt.

By nightfall, the weather will grow moderate across the country by nightfall, and mild on northern coasts.

Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 31C in Alexandria, 36C in Cairo, and 44C in Qena, Luxor, and Aswan.

Mists are expected during the morning hours on Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the northern coasts.

Maximum and minimum humidity levels are: 45-88 on the northern coasts, 35-82 at Cairo and Lower Egypt, 25-65 in northern Upper Egypt, and 18-41 at southern Upper Egypt.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said that the country is currently being affected by the Indian summer monsoon, which is typical every summer and makes the country’s weather hotter and more humid.

Winds will be northwestern and moderate across most of Egypt, active sometimes on different parts of South Sinai, blowing up sand and dust and disrupting maritime navigation in the Red Sea.

Waves in the Mediterranean Sea will be moderate, ranging between 1.5 and two meters in height, while waves in the Red Sea will be moderate to rough, ranging between two and 2.5 meters in height.

Surface winds will be northwestern on both seas.
