Egypt’s women’s handball team has made history by qualifying for the 2025 World Cup for the first time in women’s handball.
They secured this victory after defeating the Democratic Republic of Congo team with a score of 23-22 on their home turf, in the quarterfinals of the African Nations Championship.
The first half ended in a draw with both teams tied at 11-11. Mai Gouda was awarded the best player of the match after achieving the difficult feat of qualifying for the World Cup.
Egypt’s team will now face Angola in the semi-finals.
