The Ministry of Interior has okayed an exceptional family visit to inmates at correctional and rehabilitation centers on the occasion marking the International Human Rights Day, which is observed annually on December 10.
The exceptional visits will be made on December 10 till December 31, and will not be counted as one of the scheduled encounters.
The move reflects the Interior Ministry’s commitment to promoting human rights values, implementing modern punitive policies and offering comprehensive care to inmates in rehabilitation centres.
