Interior Ministry: Brotherhood cell behind attack on Beni Suef security ambush

The Interior Ministry claims a group of men affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood are responsible for a security ambush in Saft al-Sharqiya area in Beni Suef last month, which killed five policemen.

The ministry has identified 14 suspects who they say are members of the Muslim Brotherhood, five of whom have been arrested.

“Our intelligence indicates that instructions were given by the Muslim Brotherhood leaders to a member of the group’s administrative office in Beni Suef, named Abdel Aleem Abdullah Mohamed Tulba, to form a military wing of the group in the governorate to target military and police establishments and personnel. Tulba coordinated with another member and formed the military wing, which included the other suspects,” the ministry said in a statement.

Security services, according to the ministry, arrested five of them possessing machine guns, a Hamas flag, LE91,000 and several laptops.
