International Symposium for Women and Life to be held on sidelines of Aswan festival

As part of the sixth session of the Aswan International Film Festival for Women, “The International Symposium for Women and Life” will be held.

Twenty artists from several countries, including Egypt, Kuwait, Iraq, Palestine and Qatar will participate in the symposium.

The symposium aims to shed light on the common space between plastic arts and cinema by mixing color and image in the city of Aswan.

This hopes to bring together history, civilization, art and charming nature.

The International Symposium for Women and Life is held in Aswan, in cooperation with the ArtLand Foundation.

The Foundation aims to hold exhibitions, workshops and artistic and cultural seminars on an international level to develop the artistic culture of artists, Hassan Karim, Director of the ArtLand Foundation, said.

The Symposium is an important and exciting event for every plastic artist who has unique drawings on the subject of women.

The important and vibrant will be showcased in various fields who represent feelings, tenderness and love.

Themes like the beloved, mother, sister, daughter and friend will be the highlight Safa Dashty, Director of the ArtLand Foundation, and Coordinator of the International Symposium for Women and Life, said.

The symposium is an important interactive activity at a global level, in the presence of senior innovators in visual arts, cinema, films, plastic art, photography, theater and design.

It comes at an important time of the year where the sun falls perpendicular on King Ramses’s status at Abu Simbel temple which further grabs the attention to the symposium, Dashty said.

The Symposium is a meeting that brings together Arab artists through direct interaction.

The symposium gives them new opportunities to create a dialogue through painting, women and the city, Founding member of the Aswan International Film Festival for Women, Nermin Amer, said.

Aswan governorate had prepared to receive the guests of the sixth session of the Aswan International Film Festival for Women, held from February 23 to 28, in the city of Aswan, Governor of Aswan Ashraf Attia said earlier.

The festival’s guests, including Egyptians, Arabs and foreigners, will see the new Aswan after it has been modernized and developed, he added.
