Iranian envoy to arrive in Cairo on Monday

Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the chairman for the Islamic Consultative Assembly's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran, will arrive in Cairo on Monday for an official visit.

Boroujerdi will be coming from the Qatari capital city of Doha, acting as special envoy of the Iranian Speaker of Parliament Ali Larijani.

The Iranian Fars News Agency reported Sunday that Boroujerdi will invite Egyptian public figures to take part in an upcoming conference to support the Palestinian uprising, to be held in the Iranian capital of Tehran on the first two days of October.

Boroujerdi is also scheduled to meet with the Arab League Secretary General Nabil al-Araby during his visit to Egypt.

During his visit to Doha on Saturday, Boroujerdi handed an invitation from Larijani to his Qatari counterpart, Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi, asking him to attend the conference.

Deputy Chairman of the Islamic Consultative Assembly's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Mohammad Ismail Kowsari will accompany Boroujerdi on the trip.
