Security forces in Iraq's Diyala province have discovered a huge explosive device hidden in a truck, state-run news agency MENA cited security sources as saying.
Troops dismantled the truck carrying 18 barrels full of the highly explosive substance, C-4.
The source added that accurate intelligence led authorities to the device, hidden in the truck close to the local judicial building.
The driver was killed while being followed by police.
Preliminary investigations suggested he was an Arab.
Muqdadiya Mayor Zaid Ibrahim Hassan congratulated explosives experts after foiling the bomb plot.
