IT minister, NIELIT director general probe cooperation in building up digital capacities

Minister of Communication and Infromation Technology Amr Talat discussed with Director General of the Indian National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) Dr. Madan Mohan Tripathi ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in the field of building up digital capacities within the framework of initiatives and programs floated by the ICT ministry, with a view to promoting youth skills and training young cadres on the latest technological trends.

The two sides also probed cooperation between the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and the NIELIT in the information technology, artificial intelligence, and electronic design spheres, through a training program for participants in the capacity-building program Digital Egypt Builders Initiative.

Also, the minister met with officials of giant technological firms, including Indian multinational manufacturer of consumer electronics and home appliances Micromax and Founder and head of the Innovation Think Tank at Siemens Healthineers Sultan Haider as talks pored over ways of encouraging strategies and schemes aimed at supporting innovation to support entrepreneurship in technological fields.

The minister of communication is on an official five-day visit to India to meet senior Indian government officials and board chairmen of leading Indian IT companies to discuss strengthening Egyptian-Indian technological cooperation, in addition to luring Indian investments to the Egyptian market.
