January 25 was a revolution, June 30 a manifestation of it: film director

"January 25 was a revolution. June 30 is not a revolution, but rather a manifestation of the January 25 Revolution," said film director Dawoud Abdel Sayyed.

There are some parties who do not want change to happen in Egypt, Abdel Sayyed said in an interview on CBC channel Tuesday evening.

Abdel Sayyed accused those unnamed parties of violating the personal lives of citizens and leaking their secrets to the media.

He expressed solidarity with MP and director Khaled Youssef against recent accusations made against him in the media by Sada el-Balad presenter Ahmed Moussa. Moussa aired what he alleges are personal photos of Youssef in suggestive positions with an unidentified woman.

Members from the Journalists' Syndicate's public assembly have collected signatures urging the union’s board to take legal action against Moussa.

"We are suffering from limited personal space for citizens," said Abdel Sayyed. "Society in general violates the personal freedoms of citizens."
