
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly issued a decree declaring Thursday, June 18 to be a paid public holiday for the Islamic New Year, instead of the Gregorian date corresponding to the first day of Muharram, 1448 AH which is pending depending on the official sighting of the new moon.
The decree applies to employees of ministries, government departments, public authorities, local government units, public sector companies, and public business sector companies.
Examinations will continue as scheduled by the relevant authorities.
