June 30 Rev. was stepping-stone to new era of development: Senior MP

CAIRO, June 29 (MENA) – The June 30 Revolution brought about dramatic changes in Egypt to build a new republic under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohamed Abou al-Enein said.

This day will remain one of the greatest days in Egypt’s history, said the senior lawmaker in an article published by Al-Akhbar Arabic daily, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the revolution.

On that day, millions of Egyptians took to the streets to restore their identity and save their country from sliding into chaos, he added, noting that the revolution became a stepping-stone to a new era after the armed forces, led by President Sisi, had responded to popular appeals.

Commending President Sisi’s role in protecting popular will and achieving the revolution’s goals, Abou al-Enein also hailed the efforts exerted by the army police forces to restore peace and security and clamp down on terrorism.

He also shed light on Sisi’s efforts over the past 10 years to turn Egypt into one of the world’s top 30 economies by 2030, increase citizens’ income, expand the area of cultivated land, build a stronger infrastructure, improve the quality of education and promote the role of women in the society.(MENA)
