The trial of former President Hosni Mubarak will be held at the Police Academy in northeast Cairo, Egypt's justice minister said Saturday.
Minister Mohamed al-Guindi said he coordinated with the interior minister to secure the trial and regulate the entry of lawyers, media and families of those killed in the revolution, according to state-run Al-Ahram's website.
Mubarak is set to face trial on 3 August for charges of corruption and ordering the killing of protesters during the 25 January revolution, in which 850 people were killed.
Mubarak's sons, one-time heir apparent Gamal and wealthy businessman Alaa, are also to stand trial that day, along with former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly and six of his aides.
Businessman Hussein Salem will be tried in absentia on charges of squandering public funds.
Guindi said authorities moved the trial location from Nasr City for security reasons and denied plans to hold the trial in Sharm el-Sheikh.
