Spokesmen for Egypt's Cabinet and Presidency quit on Tuesday, the latest in a string of resignations from President Mohamed Morsy's beleaguered administration.
Presidential spokesman Ehab Fahmy — who was temporarily transferred to the Presidency from the foreign ministry — has tendered his resignation. Al-Masry Al-Youm also reported that Omar Amer, the Cabinet's spokesperson, has resigned.
Cabinet spokesman Alaa al-Hadidi has told Al-Masry Al-Youm that that he had tendered his resignation before Monday's armed forces statement, noting that his resignation is "final" and that he plans to return to his work at the Foreign Ministry.
