MB members sentenced to 5 years in prison in Nasr City violence case

The Nasr City Misdemeanor Court sentenced 29 members of the Muslim Brotherhood to five years in prison and fined them each LE100,000 for their involvement in violent clashes on Mostafa al-Nahas Street and outside the Salam Mosque last December.
 
The court also sentenced another member to one year in prison, fined him LE5,000 and ordered the confiscation of the weapons used in the clashes.
 
The defendants were charged with inciting riots, bullying, joining an armed terrorist group aiming to disturb public peace and security, resisting authorities, demonstrating without permit and damaging public property.
 
They were arrested while throwing Molotov cocktails and shooting at security forces.
