Military council can’t impose itself on the people, says Brotherhood leader

At a Brotherhood rally in Alexandria on Wednesday, Sobhi Saleh, a leading figure from the group, warned the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) against imposing its will on the people.

"Neither the council nor the government should stand against the will of the people,” he said, pointing to the draft constitutional principles documents that are rejected by Islamists.

“The documents go against the legitimacy that was determined in the last referendum,” he said, threatening to stage demonstrations in Tahrir Square if they are passed by force.

“The parliamentary election should not be postponed,“ he also said. “The thug remnants of the former regime and the conniving police should not be allowed to do so.”
