Ministry of Planning, InterContinental sign protocol, establishing 100 hotel rooms

Minister of Housing Mostafa Madbouli held a meeting with the chief executive officer of InterContinental Hotels and Resorts in India, Middle East and Africa on Monday, agreeing to sign a cooperation protocol which will allow InterContinental, Holiday Inn and Stay Bridge Suites Cairo-Citystars to manage 100 tourist rooms.

Madbouli praised the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the InterContinental Group and the Arab Group for Development & Real Estate Investment to operate three hotels in Al-Shams city project (Sun City project).

Meanwhile, Madbouli clarified that New Alamein City contains 25,000 hotel rooms. The ministry signed a cooperation protocol with Marriott International to establish and operate JW Marriott Hotel in Cairo with a capacity of 250 rooms and 50 villas and Marriott Hotel with capacity of 300 rooms.

The ministry further signed a cooperation protocol with Swiss Lausanne School for hotels to establish an education center, Madbouli added, revealing that New Alamein City will contain universities, schools, and various services besides tourist activities.
