Minya governor honors two disabled basketball players

Minya Governor Tareq Nasr honored two disabled players who represented Egypt in the African Wheelchair Basketball Championship held in Algeria in 2015.

Egypt's national wheelchair basketball team ranked fourth in the championship.

The two players, Ashraf Abu Zeid and Mohamed Anwar, were granted a cerificate of honor and LE1,000 each.

Supporting talented physically-challenged people is a priority to the government to integrate them into the community, said Nasr, adding that disability does not hinder a person's success as long as they have a strong will.

Nasr stressed the importance of strengthening the role of civil society organizations in promoting voluntary work, and in providing support for physically-challenged people specifically.
