Moderate rain, warmer temperatures for Egypt on Saturday

Meteorologists predict warm temperatures and light to moderate rainfall until about midday Saturday in Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt.

Moderate rainfall is also anticipated in some areas along the northwestern coast, with moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms predicted for the northeastern coast and central Sinai, possibly resulting in flash floods in those areas. 

Moderate rainfall and possible thunderstorms are expected as well in South Sinai and along the Red Sea mountain range.

Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 20C in Alexandria, 21C in Cairo, 34C in Qena, 25C in Luxor, and 26C in Aswan.

Meteorologists predict warm temperatures during the day in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and northern Upper Egypt, with moderate temperatures expected along the north coast and central Sinai.

Meanwhile, South Sinai and the Red Sea mountains will see warm weather on Saturday, with hot temperatures predicted for southern Upper Egypt.

Very cold temperatures are expected throughout the country at night, as well as fog in the morning in northern Upper Egypt.

Winds are expected to be moderate in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northwestern coast and northern Upper Egypt, with active winds predicted for southern Upper Egypt, the northeastern coast and central Sinai, possibly disrupting maritime navigation on the Red Sea.

Waves in the Mediterranean Sea will be moderate, ranging between 1.5 and two meters in height, while waves in the Red Sea will be moderate to rough, ranging between two and 2.5 meters in height, with northwestern surface winds on both seas.
