Mohamed Badie in good health, says family

The family of Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood Mohamed Badie visited him on Sunday in Tora prison after news reports claimed he suffered a heart attack and was being tortured.

This is their first visit since he was arrested last month on charges of inciting violence after the ouster of former President Mohamed Morsy.

Badie’s family said the Supreme Guide is “in good spirits and trusts victory is coming.” They denied allegations that he is in bad health or that his jaw was broken due to torture during interrogations.

Badie’s son-in-law told the Freedom and Justice Newspaper that “Badie is in good health” dismissing all claims that his health had degenerated.

According Badie's son-in-law, Badie only complained about being detained in a solitary cell and his inability to see any of the other Brotherhood members who are detained there.

He added that Badie was only allowed to see his wife and daughter who he told that an officer punched him in the face during his arrest, causing his false teeth and eye glasses to fall. Badie said he only got them back days after his detention.
