The Coptic Orthodox Church said that at three am on Saturday a pedestrian threw a Molotov cocktail at the Virgin Mary and the Martyr St. George Church in Gabriel, Alexandria.
No injuries were reported and the church building remained undamaged, the church clarified in a Sunday statement.
It added that security services detained the perpetrator and church surveillance cameras recorded the details of the entire incident
