Mother in Giza arrested for forcing son to climb 6th floor balcony

The National Council for Childhood and Motherhood’s general secretary Azza Ashmawy thanked Prosecutor General Nabil Sadek and the Ministry of Interior for arresting a woman who forced her 13-year-old son to climb from the balcony of the neighboring apartment to another, after she forgot her apartment’s keys.

The incident occurred in Hadayek October, Giza on Saturday and was captured on footage by Mohsen Abdel Radi, who said he recorded the incident to document the woman’s brutal and reckless treatment of her son, as the apartment was located on the sixth floor.

The boy can be heard crying in fear while his mother screams at him to reach the other side. The video quickly spread across social media, inciting outrage.

Ashmawy praised the prosecution’s quick response to the incident, adding that the mother would be referred to further investigation.
