Mubarak’s sons hide their father from TV cameras

Hosni Mubarak's sons, Alaa and Gamal, have tried to hide their father from TV cameras during the current trial.

Both Alaa and Gamal Mubarak stand trial on several charges, including killing protesters during the 25 January revolution, squandering public money, and exporting gas to Israel at low prices.

Today Alaa and Gamal have tried more than once to hide their father from the cameras, as they did during the trial’s first session, which took place 3 August.

The news website Masrawy also reported that Alaa prevented TV cameras from filming his father while being transferred from the ambulance to the court, located in the Police Academy.

Information Minister Osama Heikal demanded on 4 August that the team that filmed the first session to focus on the former president during the second session.

The ministry has allocated 11 cameras and a 90-member crew to cover the trial, which is only aired on state TV.
