Nasserite Party Vice President Mohamed Abul Ela this week said his party would field 48 male candidates in 21 governorates and six female candidates in six governorates in upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for November.
He also said that one party candidate in Cairo and a number of others in Alexandria had been withdrawn due to their low popularity ratings.
“We will field only one candidate in each constituency so as to give an opportunity for candidates from our opposition party coalition,” Abul Ela said.
“I expect 50 of our candidates to win,” he added, predicting that November's elections would be marked by "fierce competition."
