The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat on Wednesday will launch an audio guide service inside the Royal Mummies Hall, in which the presence of tour guides is prohibited.
The service provides a comprehensive historical explanation via headphones to visitors in Arabic and English.
It will be provided to visitors for a fee in addition to the price of the museum entry ticket, which the visitor can book through the museum’s ticket office.
The CEO of the Museum Authority Ahmed Ghoneim said that this service will be available inside the Royal Mummies Hall throughout the week.
He added that the museum previously launched a service for booking guided tours at the museum in April, in cooperation with the Tourist Guides Syndicate, which is pre-booked electronically 48 hours before the visit through the museum’s official website.
This was achieved by providing a number of guides who accompany museum visitors during their tours, giving explanations in both Arabic and English throughout the week with three tours per day.
