Egypt’s navy intervened to rescue 20 tourists who were on board a cruise boat in Hurghada, army spokesperson Mohamed Samir said Tuesday.
The boat, called the Prinzessin Mony, was at risk of sinking north of the Giftun island. The boat had 20 Russians and Czech tourists on board as well as three Egyptian crewmen, Samir said, who added that army boats towed the cruise boat to the nearest navy unit.
Last month, 26 French tourists and 10 Egyptians were rescued after their boat hit coral reefs in the Red Sea coast near Marsa Alam.
