NCCM: Children participation in int’l forums important

Chairperson of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood (NCCM) Sahar el Sonbaty said on Monday, February 16, 2026, that children’s participation in international forums represents a genuine contribution to shaping policies and visions that better respond to their needs.

It also promotes a culture of positive engagement and helps build a generation capable of representing their country effectively on the global stage, she said.

Her remarks came during the participation of a delegation from the council, including child members of the Arab Parliament for the Child (APC), in the third session of the fourth parliamentary cycle held in Sharjah in the UAE under the theme of “cybersecurity towards child-friendly content for Arab children.”

Sonbaty asserted that this participation reflects the council’s role in supporting and empowering children to actively engage in international forums, based on the belief that they should be included in discussions that affect their present and future, in line with their right to express themselves as guaranteed by international and national conventions.
