CAIRO, Oct 7 (MENA) – The National Elections Authority (NEA) announced that it is examining the nomination papers of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to ensure commitment to constitutional and legal conditions.
The NEA also said it will be reviewing endorsement forms registered by citizens at notary offices.
About 1.365 million citizens have endorsed forms to support the nomination of president Sisi for a new term in office.
Earlier Saturday, the head of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s election campaign, Mahmoud Fawzy, submitted Sisi’s nomination papers to the NEA relevant committee to enter the upcoming presidential race in December.
He presented to the NEA a file showing the support of 424 MPs for Sisi’s re-election. (MENA)
