NEA: Senate runoff voting to kick off Wednesday at 1,367 polling stations

CAIRO, Aug 26 (MENA) – Egypt will hold domestic voting in the Senate runoff election on Wednesday across 1,367 polling stations in five districts, the National Election Authority (NEA) said.

Executive Director Ahmed Bendari told a news conference that voting will run from nine am to nine pm over two days.

He added that Egyptians abroad are casting ballots in the second day of overseas voting, with 25 missions having concluded the process and begun counting. Another 111 missions remain open, closing according to each country’s local time.

No irregularities have been reported abroad, Bendari said, noting that some missions saw no turnout as voters there do not belong to the five runoff provinces: Gharbiya, Ismailia, Beni Suef, Luxor, and New Valley. (MENA)
