Governor-General of New Zealand Cindy Kiro expressed on Sunday 9-2-2025 her appreciation for the pivotal role played by Egypt to make peace in the Middle East region.
This came during Kiro’s meeting with Egypt’s Ambassador to New Zealand George Azar on the sidelines of the country’s celebrations of the National Day.
The Egyptian diplomat conveyed President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s good wishes for New Zealand’s government and people.
She highlighted efforts exerted by Egypt to cement the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and accelerate reconstruction efforts in the coastal enclave.
