Nobel laureate Tawakkol Karman attacked after praising Egyptian army

Yemeni Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Kerman has responded to the criticism she faced after praising the Egyptian armed forces, saying that “[Hezbollah leader] Hassan Nasrallah cannot disturb international navigation, as the Egyptian army and other Arab troops are present in the Bab al-Mandab strait.”
 
In a previous tweet, Karman said, “Tell Hassan Nasrallah, who called on Houthi militias to disturb international navigation, that the Egyptian military is there, securing navigation and confronting terrorism.”
 
Previously, Karman was criticized by the Egyptian media and internet users, after she had condemned the Egyptian army's clashes with supporters of toppled President Mohamed Morsy in 2013. On that pccasion, she told Reuters that the overthrow of Morsy by the military "marks a fatal blow to democracy in the Arab world."
