Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said on Tuesday that the Norwegian government will be obligated to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he ever visits the country, after a decision is issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC), the Al-Jazeera channel reported.
The Prosecutor of the ICC Karim Khan issued an arrest warrant against Netanyahu and his Defense Minister Yoav Galant on charges of committing war crimes in Gaza Strip.
Norway is now the first country to announce that it will implement the arrests warrants if carried out.
The Minister of the Israeli War Council, Benny Gantz, spoke with the British Foreign Minister, David Cameron, and told him that the ICC’s decision against the Prime Minister and Defense Minister of the one and only democracy in the Middle East (Israel) is – as he described it – dangerous and an act of moral blindness, the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported.
