Egypt’s Ambassador to South Africa Ahmed Ali Sherif said promoting trade exchange between Egypt and South Africa and opening up new markets for Egyptian exports is a top priority for the Egyptian embassy.
Sherif was speaking during a meeting with representatives of the Food Export Council (FEC), held Saturday at the embassy’s commercial representation office as part of the their ongoing one-week visit to South Africa to prepare for a trade promotion mission to the continent’s southernmost country.
The mission, tentatively set to be organized in May, includes nearly 15 Egyptian companies producing and exporting a wide variety of food products.
The visit involved a close study of the South African market and identifying food consumption patterns, the ambassador said in a statement.
