The Red Sea resorts have experienced a significant surge in tourism as the Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations approach.
These resorts are offering a variety of entertainment programs throughout the day, with cultural, musical, and recreational activities.
The Marketing Director of a major tourism group, Mohamed Eid, confirmed that Hurghada is witnessing a rise in hotel occupancy rates, ranging from 85 percent to 95 percent in Hurghada resorts.
He anticipates that these rates will reach 100 percent during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
The Hurghada and Marsa Alam International Airports received 75 international flights from various European countries on Monday, carrying approximately 15,000 tourists.
Upon arrival, tourists undergo the necessary precautionary and security measures before being transported to their respective hotels.
The Marsa Alam Airport alone received five international flights on Monday, carrying nearly 1,000 tourists. This is part of a total of 114 flights scheduled to arrive at the airport from Saturday to the following Friday.
The Hurghada International Airport welcomed 14,000 tourists on 70 flights, with high occupancy rates during the winter tourism season.
Tourism expert, Mohamed Eid Suleiman, emphasized that the tourism sector has received unprecedented support from the state and its various institutions.
Suleiman added that the state has provided a comprehensive environment to attract investments in the tourism sector, which is a vital pillar of the national economy and provides job opportunities for thousands of young people.
