Santa Claus visited on Tuesday afternoon the Shefaa al-Orman Hospital for cancer free treatment and distributed gifts to patients on the Christmas occasion, as a way of giving moral support to them.
Disguised as Santa, Raafat Adel began his visit by gifting a generous donation to the hospital, after which he headed to several departments of the hospital and exchanged jokes with patients before distributing gifts to them.
The Shefaa al-Orman Hospital was inaugurated in the Luxor governorate at the end of November at a cost of LE 130 million, to provide an integrated and specialized cancer treatment service for free to residents of Upper Egypt governorates. The hospital provides service for both children and adults.
The hospital also provides an integrated educational, training, and research environment of cancer and hosts public awareness programs to assist the early detection of cancer.
The hospital includes four large operating theaters, a 26-bed intensive care unit, a medical endoscopy unit, a kidney dialysis unit with 5 beds, a recovery unit, a stay facility of 110 beds, a PET CT scanner and an x-ray, a blood bank unit, a medical waste disposal unit, a surgical pathology unit, and a systems and information center.
The hospital is equipped with the latest diagnostic and treatment equipment in the world, and serves six Upper Egypt governorates with a population of up to 11 million people.
