Planning Minister Hala Saeed said LE350 billion was allocated in the first stage of the national project for developing the Egyptian countryside “Decent Life”.
The funds are earmarked for implementing 23,000 projects in 1,477 villages in 20 governorates, she said, adding that about 18 million people benefit from the projects.
About 68 percent of the funds go to the Upper Egypt governorates.
She added that the Decent Life projects meet the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
