Prime Minister Hazem al-Beblawy headed to the Cairo International Airport to receive Bahraini King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa who arrived on Thursday afternoon, Reuters reported.
Beblawy left the Cabinet of Ministers before meeting with EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton who reportedly ran late.
This is the first official visit for a Gulf ruler to Egypt since the ouster of former President Mohamed Morsy on 3 July.
Ashton is conducting a two-visit to Egypt. She has already met with President Adly Masnour and other officials.
