Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly departed Cairo on Monday, August 18, 2025, for Japan to represent President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi at the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), set to take place in Yokohama from August 20 to 22.
Madbouly will attend the summit’s opening session alongside the Japanese prime minister, African heads of state, and leaders of international and regional organizations.
On the sidelines, the Egyptian premier is expected to hold high-level meetings with officials from Japanese and African organizations, as well as executives from major Japanese companies.
He will also participate in the Egypt-Japan Business Council Forum, aimed at exploring opportunities to boost trade and investment between the two countries.
