PM orders swift completion of timetable for restructuring economic authorities

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly directed, Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026, swift completion of a comprehensive timetable for the restructuring of Egypt’s economic authorities, including deadlines for mergers and conversions into public service bodies.

The directive came during a meeting on Tuesday with Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hussein Eissa at the government headquarters in the New Capital.

Madbouly stressed that a clear and defined schedule would help accelerate decision-making and ensure the effective implementation of the restructuring plan.

The meeting reviewed the latest developments regarding the restructuring of 59 economic authorities, as part of the State’s efforts to enhance their efficiency and maximize the utilization of their resources.

Discussions also covered the various restructuring scenarios and proposed measures, including authorities slated for abolition, entities to be merged into other economic authorities as well as bodies to be converted into public service authorities.

The meeting further reviewed authorities that would continue operating as economic public authorities under the government’s restructuring framework.
