PM reviews executive situation of ongoing projects in Qalyubia

CAIRO, Oct 11 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly was briefed – during his current visit to Qalyubiya – on the overall progress of various projects currently being implemented in the cities and centers of the governorate across productive and service sectors.

The briefing was presented by Governor of Qalyubiya Ayman Atiya.

This came as part of the prime minister’s field tour to follow up on a number of development and service projects under implementation in various sectors, including housing, education, healthcare, industry, and others.

Atiya began his presentation by highlighting the healthcare sector, noting that the governorate has 24 public hospitals, 27 private hospitals, and 195 healthcare units, comprising a total of 9,885 beds.

He pointed out that the recent period has witnessed a significant transformation through the implementation of several key projects, including the opening of hospitals.

The governor also reviewed several ongoing projects in the health sector.

Atiya also discussed the status of the presidential initiative “Decent Life” for the development of rural Egyptian villages.

Atiya emphasized the unprecedented progress in the roads sector, with the implementation of an integrated network of main arteries and highways connecting the governorate’s cities to neighboring provinces.

These roads have significantly improved traffic flow and supported comprehensive development across the governorate.

He also confirmed that there is ongoing monitoring of investment plan projects, including road paving and urban development in various districts and cities, aiming to enhance infrastructure and upgrade the road network under the supervision of the Qalyubia Directorate of Roads.

These efforts reflect the governorate’s commitment to accelerating development to better serve citizens.

The governor also addressed the issue of an unplanned industrial area in Qalyoub, established over 20 years ago, which hosts numerous factories specializing in nail manufacturing and metal industries.

In this context, Atiya noted that a proposal was presented to the prime minister and the deputy prime minister for industrial development, who is also the minister of industry and transport, to expand this industrial zone.

The expansion would be through the creation of a planned industrial area within the urban boundary, covering 70 feddans (acres). (MENA)
