
CAIRO, Sept 28 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said Egypt is keen to boost the manufacturing of electric vehicles, especially in light of the national strategy to localize the auto industry and advance transition into the green economy.
Madbouly made the remarks during his meeting on Sunday with a high-level delegation from China’s BYD Auto, led by Executive Vice-President Stella Li, who also serves as CEO for the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, in the presence of Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel al-Wazir, along with senior officials from Mansour Group.
The premier lauded the promising partnership between the Chinese company and Mansour Group for the joint manufacturing of electric vehicles.
The transport minister praised BYD Auto and Mansour Group for their leading role in the automotive industry, stressing his ministry will provide full support to ensure the success of their partnership.
Representatives of Mansour Group expressed their appreciation for the government’s backing of the automotive industry, noting that their cooperation with BYD Auto would help advance Egypt’s electric vehicle industry and deliver high-quality products to Egyptian consumers.
On her part, Stella Li outlined BYD Auto’s future vision for the electric vehicle industry in Egypt in partnership with Mansour Group, presenting plans to expand in the Egyptian market by introducing the latest models of electric and new energy vehicles, alongside a strategy to support the localization of automotive manufacturing in Egypt.
