Port Said Customs Office foils narcotics smuggling attempt

Shark al-Tafrea Customs Office in Port Said, headed by Mohammed Hanafy, in coordination with the Custom Evasion Combating Department, has foiled an attempt to smuggle a large amount of the narcotic tablet Tamol.

The possession, export, import and circulation of Tamol are prohibited in Egypt.

The Customs Office seized 75 cartons containing 3 million and 750,000 tablets of Tamol carried by a container ship passing through the Suez Canal, coming from Singapore and Malta to one of the Arab countries, Hanafy clarified.

The Customs Office took the necessary legal procedures, edited a custom evasion report and seized the shipment, he added.
