The presidency condemned the blasts that took place in Cairo and Giza on Friday morning, which collectively killed five people and injured 85 others.
"These terrorist incidents aim at break the will of the Egyptian people," the presidency said in a brief statement. "But, this will increase Egypt's determination to uproot terrorism in every corner of the country, in addition to implementing the road map."
The presidency said that authorities will be on the lookout for those who are trying to spread terror within Egypt.
The statement pledged "retribution for the martyrs and victims of the terrorist incidents and severe punishment for those involved, whether through planning, inciting or implementing."
A car loaded with explosives attempted to storm the Cairo Security Directorate building on Friday morning, resulting in a huge explosion that killed four people and injured 76 others.
Another IED exploded in the vicinity of Behouth metro station, killing a police recruit and injuring nine others.
Meanwhile, a third blast took place in the Talbiya neighborhood in Haram, but no one was hurt.
