President Sisi says world is well aware of Egypt’s positive role in achieving regional stability

CAIRO, Nov 26 (MENA) – President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said the world now recognizes the positive role Egypt plays in maintaining the stability equation in the region, stressing that Egypt’s efforts extend to all countries of the Middle East.

Speaking during an interactive dialogue with students applying to join the Military Academy, President Sisi said Egypt is committed to the stability of Lebanon, Yemen, Sudan, Libya and the Gaza Strip, noting that Cairo continues to play a constructive role in regional stability, even though circumstances are not always entirely in its hands.

He said regional stability serves the interests of all, pointing out that unrest in any country affects the wider region.

Sisi stressed that instability in the region has economic dimensions, citing disruptions to Red Sea shipping and their impact on the Suez Canal, which has incurred losses approaching eight billion dollars.

He added that instability drives people from crisis-affected countries to come to Egypt in search of safety. (MENA)
