Prosecution finds weapons at FJP’s downtown headquarters

Abdeen Prosecution Chief Mohamed al-Ashmawy ordered Monday that the headquarters of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) on Mansour Street in Bab al-Louq be seized, until the testimony of its officials is heard.

The Prosecution found sharp weapons inside the party offices.

The Prosecution inspected the FJP headquarters after a police report mentioned that citizens were gathering in front of it. Protesters caused damage and attempted to break in. However, the police was able to convince them to abandon their attempts.

The party's billboard was damaged. The main door was opened. The Prosecution examined the inside of the building and found a large amount of weapons.

Inspectors also found plastic bags containing an unknown liquid substance.  Samples were sent to a criminal laboratory.
