Prosecutor-General Nabil Sadek ordered the seizure of leader of the Masr al-Qawya party Abdel Moneam Abu al-Fotoh’s funds and others on Sunday after the prosecution added their names on a terror following a court verdict issued by the Cairo Criminal Court last week.
The prosecution made the decision after the Supreme State Security Prosecution’s investigations claimed that the former Muslim Brotherhood leader Abu al-Fotoh and others engaged in terrorism-related activities.
Egyptian security forces arrested Abu al-FotohFotoh on February 14 for alleged ties with Egypt’s outlawed Muslim Brotherhood. According to the State Security Prosecution’s investigations, that same month, Abu al-Fotoh reportedly gave an interview to Qatari owned Al-Jazeera in which he criticized state policies.
